A people-inspired dance fitness program combining explosive dance movements with body-weight toning, suitable for all ages.
NickiFit brings MixxedFit to the Kansas City Public Library: Waldo Branch on Monday, December 28, at 6 PM. It's a dance fitness class led by a certified MixxedFit instructor, and if you've never heard of it, the name tells you exactly what's on the menu: dance mixed with body-weight toning.
That's the core of the whole thing. You'll spend the session moving through dance routines that build into body-weight exercises, so you're getting your heart rate up and working your muscles in the same hour. The music pulls from a wide range of genres—Top 40, hip-hop, reggae, and rock—so the playlist shifts as the class goes along. The moves themselves are repetitive and easy to follow, which means you can spend more time actually moving and less time trying to figure out what comes next.
It's built for people who love to dance, people who want to learn, and people who just like moving their bodies. Because the moves are repetitive, it works for all ages, and there are low-impact options available if you need to take things a bit easier. You don't need any dance experience to jump in.
