Computer and technology workshop for adults and seniors on the basics of Gmail, including email safety, spam management and decluttering your inbox.
You Have Gmail! - Are Emails Taking Over Your Inbox? is happening at the Lawrence Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Monday, October 26, from 1 PM to 3 PM. It's a computer and technology workshop for adults and seniors, so it's geared toward people who want to get a handle on their email without feeling rushed.
The session focuses on the basics of Gmail. You'll go over email safety and how to manage spam, and you'll learn how to protect your personal information. From there, it moves into the practical side of keeping things organized: using filters, favorites, and labels to declutter your inbox. If your email has become a bit of a mess, that's exactly what the second half is for.
One thing to keep in mind before you head over: you need a Google account to participate, so make sure you've got one set up. The program is made possible by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Indianapolis and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The Lawrence Branch is on North Franklin Road in Indianapolis. It first opened in 1967 in a storefront that used to be the Lawrence Post Office—the first branch to open within an incorporated town in Marion County. A larger, permanent 13,500-square-foot facility opened in 1983, and the branch was renovated in 2020. The workshop runs from 1 PM to 3 PM on Monday, October 26.
