Digital literacy workshop for seniors and adults on the basics of Gmail, including sending, organising and scheduling emails.
You Have Gmail! - Are Emails Taking Over Your Inbox? is happening at the Michigan Road Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Tuesday, October 27, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It's a computer and technology workshop run by the library's Tech Learning Team, aimed at seniors and adults, and filed under digital literacy and email basics.
The session is all about the fundamentals of Gmail. They'll walk you through the basics—sending and receiving mail, composing and organizing your messages—and then move into the tools that actually help you keep things under control: using filters, favorites, and labels. You'll also learn how to attach files and schedule emails to go out later. There's a good chunk of the class dedicated to the etiquette and mechanics of replying, too—when to use reply, reply all, bcc, and cc, which is one of those things that's easy to get wrong if you've never had it explained.
One practical thing to keep in mind: you'll need a Google account to take part, so if you don't have one yet, it's worth setting that up before you head in. The class is made possible by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

The venue is the Michigan Road Branch, located at 6201 North Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268. It's a 20,000-square-foot library that opened in December 2018 to improve access to services and collections in the area, with dedicated spaces for children, teens, and adults, more computers than the older branches, and a large community room. The workshop runs from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27.
