Free yoga and meditation session led by Indy Community Yoga at the West Perry Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Indy Community Yoga is running a series of sessions at the West Perry Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library this November, and the first one kicks off on Tuesday, November 3. It's a month-long stretch: meditation on November 3 and 10, followed by yoga on November 17 and 24. Each session runs from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, so you can drop in for one or stick with the whole four.
Each gathering mixes gentle movement, sitting meditation, and a time to share reflections. You're encouraged to bring your own mat, though a few are available to borrow if you don't have one. The sessions are led by the practice leaders of Indy Community Yoga, a local nonprofit that supports collective well-being through daily meditation and yoga, seasonal silent retreats, and 100% free community care projects. If you're new to either yoga or meditation, the gentle movement and the shared reflection time make it a low-pressure way to get started.
The venue is the West Perry Branch, located at 6650 S Harding St in Indianapolis. It opened in 2021 as a 24,000-square-foot library meant to fill a service gap in the growing Perry Township community. Inside, you'll find materials in Spanish and children's Burmese, a community meeting room, a fireplace, a marketplace, computer stations, children's and teen zones, and an outdoor patio. It's a full-service branch, so if you're in the neighborhood for a session, there's plenty more to do around the building.

All the sessions are free, and registration opens on November 14. Since the series starts on November 3, you'll want to keep an eye on the library's calendar to secure your spot. The sessions run from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the West Perry Branch, with meditation on November 3 and 10, and yoga on November 17 and 24.
