Toddler Halloween session with pumpkin art, spooky sensory play and a not-so-scary story for children aged 18 to 36 months and their caregivers.
Toddler Time: Halloween Hullabaloo is coming to Firefly Landing, the early childhood space inside the Indiana State Museum at 650 W Washington St. It's a one-hour session built for toddlers aged 18 to 36 months and their caregivers, and there are three dates to choose from: Saturday, Oct 24 from 9 to 10 AM; Wednesday, Oct 28 from 10 to 11 AM; and Thursday, Oct 29 from 10 to 11 AM.
If you've been to Toddler Time before, you know the format: circle time, story time, station explorations, and movement time all packed into one hour. The Halloween edition adds pumpkin art and spooky sensory play to a not-so-scary story, so it's more about the festive atmosphere than anything truly frightening. The activities are play-based and open-ended, and they're designed to help toddlers work on their fine and gross motor skills.
It's not just for the little ones, either. Caregivers are encouraged to learn alongside their children, practicing things like problem-solving and social-emotional communication while the kids play. The whole thing is part of the museum's broader Toddler Time series, which runs throughout the year.

This is also part of a larger Spooky Season the museum is running from Sept 25 through Oct 31, which includes hands-on messy projects for toddlers, family-friendly mystery nights, and the chance to experience the museum in the dark. Tickets for the Halloween Hullabaloo are $13 per child, with museum members getting 25% off, and every child needs to come with an adult.
