Interactive holiday sing-along led by Scott Semester and Sean Baker, the Music Maker, where the audience's voice is the star.
The Big Broadway Sing-Along: Holiday Edition comes to The Cabaret on Thursday, December 3, led by Scott Semester and Sean Baker. It's part of the Uniquely Cabaret Series, and the format is as straightforward as it sounds: you grab a drink, pick a song, and the whole room sings along. The audience's voice is the most important part of the night, and the running joke is that you don't have to sing wellโyou just have to sing loud.
Semester and Baker aren't the first to do this. The sing-along started with John Mays at Chef Joseph's, and it was Semester and Baker who brought it back by popular demand, adding a second performance to the original format. They'll be joined on stage by surprise guest performers throughout the evening.
The room does a good deal of the heavy lifting. The Cabaret is an intimate, softly lit space on Pennsylvania Street where old Hollywood meets urban chicโall chandeliers and high-tops around a small stage with a lone piano, seating 190. It's regarded as one of the city's best environments for serious music fans, and it fits a night where the crowd is the main act.

It's billed as one of Indy's most festive and interactive nights out, and since it's the holiday edition, it's a good one to bring a group to. The show starts at 8 PM at The Cabaret, 924 N. Pennsylvania St., Ste. B, in downtown Indianapolis.
