Storytime session for children aged 0 to 5 and their caregivers led by the Indianapolis Public Library's Kid Central programme.
Tales 'n Play Storytime is back at the Central Library on Friday, November 13, from 11 AM to 12 PM. It's run by Kid Central, the Indianapolis Public Library's children's program, and it's built for the youngest crowd: kids aged 0 to 5 and their caregivers. That covers the whole early childhood range—babies, toddlers, and preschoolers—so it works whether you've got a newborn or a kid who's almost in kindergarten.
The session is just that: a storytime for the little ones. And since it's open to everyone in that age group, you'll find a mix of ages in the room. There's no registration required, so you can just show up. Everyone is welcome to stay for open playtime after the storytime, which is a nice way to let the kids burn off some energy while you chat with other parents.
If you haven't spent much time there, the Central Library is the hub of the whole Indianapolis Public Library system. The original 1917 building was designed by Paul Cret and built of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style. The six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007, so the building is a mix of the old limestone and the newer glass. It's located at 40 East Saint Clair Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
