Storytime for babies and toddlers aged 0-5 and their caregivers, presented by Kid Central at the Central Library.
Tales 'n Play is back at the Central Library on Friday, October 23, from 11 AM to 12 PM. It's a storytime session for babies and toddlers, presented by Kid Central, the Indianapolis Public Library's program for young children. The session is aimed at kids aged 0 to 5 and their caregivers, and that range covers a good bit of ground: preschoolers, families, babies, and toddlers are all welcome. No registration is required, so you can just show up.
One of the best parts is what happens after the stories. Everyone is welcome to stay for open playtime once the storytime wraps up, which makes it a bit more than just a scheduled readingβit's a chance for the kids to keep playing and for the adults to hang out. If you're coming with a little one, that extra time can be the difference between a quick trip and a whole morning out.
The session is held at the Central Library, the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system. The original 1917 building was designed by Paul Cret and built of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, and it's considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the US. A six-story glass and steel-framed addition by Evans Woollen opened in 2007, so the library holds both the old limestone and the newer glass and steel. It's located at 40 East Saint Clair Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
