One-hour early-childhood program for children aged 2 to 5 with an adult, blending art, science and sensory exploration through hands-on, messy projects.
Messy Mondays returns to the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites on Monday, October 19, from 10 AM to 11 AM. It's a one-hour program for children ages 2 to 5, and every child needs to be accompanied by an adult. If you're looking for something to do with a toddler or preschooler on a Monday morning, this is exactly that.
The session blends art, science and sensory exploration into one hour. Each one is built around hands-on, messy projects that let young children discover by doing, and that's paired with an interactive story time and play-based activities. The whole thing is designed for the early-childhood age group, so it's more about the process of making and playing than about a finished product. If your kid loves getting their hands dirty and figuring things out as they go, this is right up their alley.

Tickets are $13 for youth, and there's an Access Pass for $5. If you're an Access Pass member, you'll need to buy in person or call 317.232.1637. It's a separate ticket, so it's not included in general museum admission, and museum members get a 25% discount. The session runs from 10 AM to 11 AM, and there are more dates on the calendar later in the season: February 15, March 15 and March 22.
