Spooky scary sleepover at Loudmouth Books with dinner, a bookmark craft station and a Halloween-themed book-to-film screening.
Loudmouth Books is hosting its first Loudmouth Slumber Party at Indiana Humanities on Saturday, October 24, from 5 PM to 10 PM. They're calling it a "Spooky Scary Sleepover," and the whole thing is built around the idea of turning up in your pajamas with your current read and a sleeping bag or air mattress for a night of cozy bookish fun.
There's a full evening's worth of things to do. Dinner is included, and there's a build-your-own-bookmark craft station where you can make something for your current book. The main event happens in the basement, with a screening of Halloween-themed book-to-film adaptations—stories that started on the page and made it to the screen, all fitting the spooky season. Between the food, the crafting, and the movies, it's a long stretch of a night rather than a quick drop-in.
The party also marks the fifth anniversary of Tor Nightfire, the imprint from Tor. To celebrate, the first ten people to buy tickets get totes and goodies. If you're on the fence, refunds are available up to two days before the event, so you can commit and still back out if your plans change.
