Exhibition with 13 cars, 70 helmets and other memorabilia from NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon's career, included in museum admission.
Jeff Gordon is the subject of a new exhibition at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, which opened July 1 and runs through February 2027. It's the first time the museum has dedicated an entire exhibition to a single NASCAR driver, and it takes up both of the lower-level rotating galleries.
The display follows Gordon's career from the start: his early days in quarter midgets and racing sprint cars as a teenager, and then his years in stock cars. He's a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion (1995, 1997, 1998, 2001) with 93 Cup Series wins—third all-time—and a record five Brickyard 400 wins. Gordon grew up in Pittsboro, Indiana, so there's a local connection here.
Thirteen cars from every era of his career are on display, alongside artifacts that haven't been shown before: his first trophy from a 1976 bicycle race, the first Jeff Gordon T-shirt from 1978, and the firesuit from his first sprint car win in 1986. There's also the Williams Formula 1 steering wheel he used when he swapped seats with Juan Pablo Montoya at the Speedway in 2003. More than 70 helmets are shown as art. Gordon called it the largest collection of his personal memorabilia ever displayed to the public.

Admission to the exhibition is included with museum admission, which you can buy at imsmuseum.org. One thing to keep in mind: during the Brickyard 400 weekend, you'll also need to buy Indianapolis Motor Speedway gate admission to get into the track.
