Professional development workshop for business professionals to improve data-driven presentations and reports using storytelling frameworks.
Leading with AI: Influence is coming to 16 Tech on Thursday, November 5, from 9 AM to 4 PM. It's a one-day workshop run by the IU Kelley School of Business as part of their professional development hub, which handles executive education in leadership, business acumen, AI and technology, and operational excellence across Indianapolis, Bloomington, and online. The classes are kept small, usually 15 to 20 people, and they offer discounts for groups, IU alumni, and IU staff.
The session is built for people who spend a good chunk of their day communicating data-driven insights—think business analysts, project managers, consultants, and product managers. You don't need a background in data science or programming to get anything out of it. Instead, you're asked to bring something you're already working on—a current workplace presentation, report, dashboard, or analysis—and spend the day refining it using storytelling frameworks. The goal is to take the numbers you're already dealing with and turn them into a narrative that actually lands with an audience.
Leading the session is Anna Deeds, a senior lecturer at Kelley who's been shaping business communicators at the school for over a decade. Before that, she worked in communications at General Electric's Appliance Park, so she's coming at this from a corporate background rather than just an academic one. Along with a certificate of completion, you'll get a digital badge to display on platforms like LinkedIn.
