Free screening of 'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu' at the Schrott Center for the Arts, with Star Wars character meet-and-greets, airbrush tattoos and balloon twisting before the film.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu screens at the Schrott Center for the Arts on Tuesday, December 8, as part of Butler University's Free Community Movie Series. The movie starts at 7 PM, and doors open at 6 PM, so you've got a full hour to hang out before the lights go down. The venue is at 610 W. 46th St., right in Butler's Midtown Arts District.
This isn't just a movie night, though. The series pairs every screening with themed pre-show activities, and this one leans hard into the Star Wars side of things. Before the film, there will be character meet-and-greets, airbrush tattoos, and balloon twisting. If you're bringing kids, that's where the real action is—they can get a tattoo and a balloon and meet some characters before they even settle into their seats. If you're going solo or with friends, it's still a good reason to show up early and make a whole evening of it rather than just sliding in right as the movie starts.
It's part of a larger run: the Free Community Movie Series brings fan-favorite and family-friendly films to Indianapolis throughout the fall, with a new title each night. The whole thing is free and open to the public, and you don't need a ticket to get in. If you want snacks, concessions are available, but keep in mind they take card only—no cash at the counter.
