Demo-based health and wellness class on easy and tasty ways to add more fiber to daily meals, aimed at seniors and adults.
Fiber Maxxing comes to the Central Library on Wednesday, October 28, from 2 PM to 3 PM. It's a demo-based health and wellness class run by Marion County Public Health Nutrition Services, and it's one of two topics they're bringing to the library this autumn—the other is Meal Planning Made Simple.
The session focuses on easy and tasty ways to add more fiber to your daily meals. Rather than just talking about it, the nutritionists will show you how to actually do it, with a demo that puts the ideas into practice. Along the way, they'll explain the why behind the what: how fiber supports healthy digestion, balances blood sugar, and can help with weight management. It's aimed at seniors and adults, so it's a good fit if you're looking for practical ways to tweak your eating habits without overhauling everything at once.
The class is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation. The Central Library itself is the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, housing the original 1917 building by Paul Cret—built of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style and regarded as one of the finest secular buildings in the US—along with a six-story glass and steel-framed addition by Evans Woollen that opened in 2007.
