Disc golf clinics held at Garfield Park, with sessions on October 16 and 17.
Disc Golf Fall Fling brings disc golf clinics to the Garfield Park Burrello Family Center this weekend, with sessions running on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17. If you've never picked up a disc, this is a low-stakes way to get started; if you've been playing a bit on your own and want to clean up your form, it's a good place to get some actual pointers.
Both sessions run from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. Since they're spread across two days, you can pick the one that fits your schedule best—Friday afternoon if you're wrapping up the work week, or Saturday if you'd rather keep your weekend morning open. Each session is an hour and a half, which is plenty of time to get a feel for the basics without it becoming a whole-day commitment. The clinics are held at the Burrello Family Center, right in the heart of Garfield Park, so you're already in one of the city's great green spaces when you arrive.
It's a free event, so there's nothing to pay upfront. You just show up at the Burrello Family Center during the window that works for you. If you're coming with a group, you can all head out together on the same day, or split it up across the two. Either way, you'll be spending ninety minutes on the course with people who know the game, which is a lot easier than trying to figure it out by trial and error on your own. Between the two dates, there's a good chance you can find a time that fits around your other plans for the weekend.
