Monday morning homeschool program for children to explore the natural and historical grounds of Conner Prairie when the museum is closed to the public.
Curious by Nature is back at Conner Prairie on Monday, October 19, as part of their homeschool program that runs on Monday mornings throughout 2026. The whole series is built around the idea of giving kids the time, space, and freedom to let their innate curiosity for the natural world thrive. It happens on Mondays when the museum is closed to the public, which means you get far more access to the grounds than you would on a usual visiting day.
There's a lot to explore here. The program opens up more than 1,000 acres of natural and historical space, including over six miles of shoreline along the White River. You'll find the four-story Treetop Outpost treehouse and the Trails at Conner Prairie, which run about two miles and take in both the paved Prairie Trail and the more rugged R.B. Annis Vista Trail. The museum also looks after nine heirloom gardens and the Wellspring exhibit, which features a fictional mythology and language with thirteen characters representing plants and animals found in central Indiana.
This particular session, the 'Favorite Kid Spot' walk, runs from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM and starts at the Treetop Outpost. It's one of several dates in the series, which runs from February 23 through December 21. Curious by Nature sits alongside the museum's other homeschool offerings, like the full-day, self-paced Homeschool Days and the multi-week Homeschool Series.

For the 'Trails for Kids' program, it's $10 per child, with one adult free and additional adults $8. Student prices vary across the different programs, so if you're looking at more than one, it's worth checking the details for each.
