Beginner-friendly class by the library's Tech Learning Team on creating, editing and formatting spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
Microsoft Excel Essentials is coming to the College Avenue Branch on Tuesday, November 10, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a class run by the Indianapolis Public Library's Tech Learning Team, and it's part of a beginner-friendly series of three sessions. This one focuses on the basics: creating, editing, and formatting spreadsheets. If you've ever opened Excel and felt a bit lost, this is exactly where you start.
The class is designed for beginners, so you don't need to be a pro to walk in. The Tech Learning Team leads it, and they're the same group that handles the library's tech programs across the city. The whole series is built to take you from zero to comfortable, and while the library encourages taking all three sessions to get the full picture, you can drop in for just this one if that's all you need. The program is made possible by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
If you're not familiar with the venue, the College Avenue Branch has a bit of a story. It opened back in 1924 as the Broadway Branch, serving the neighborhood from a frame house on East 42nd Street. In 1958, it moved into a 6,500-square-foot facility on Broadway Street, which eventually got too crowded for the area. That building was replaced in August 2000 by the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue, which is when it took the name it has today. It's a neighborhood staple that's grown right along with the community it serves.
