Hands-on science session for children ages 3 to 8 and their parents or caregivers at the West Perry Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Curiosity Lab is back at the West Perry Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Saturday, December 19, from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM. It's a science session for young children, ages 3 to 8, who come along with their parents or caregivers to experiment side by side. The whole thing is built around hands-on stations, so the kids get to actually do the work rather than just watch a demonstration. It's a short half-hour, which fits the attention span of the younger crowd.
If you haven't been to the West Perry Branch yet, it's at 6650 S Harding St. The building opened in 2021, a 24,000-square-foot facility that stepped in to fill a service gap in the growing Perry Township community. It's a newer addition to the city's library system, and it carries materials in Spanish and children's Burmese to support the area's immigrant population. The Curiosity Lab sessions are supported by Cummins and The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

It's a simple setup: you bring the kids, they move through the stations, and you hang out with them while they figure things out. The session runs from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 19, at the West Perry Branch.
