Monthly, free crochet circle where crocheters of all levels meet and learn together, with hooks and yarn provided.
Crochet Circles meet at Indy Reads on the first and third Sundays of each month from 12 PM to 2 PM. It's a cozy, all-languages crochet circle run by Indy Reads in Fountain Square, where crocheters of all levels meet and learn together. If you've never picked up a hook before, you're just as welcome as someone who's been making sweaters for years. The whole point is to work side by side and pick up a few things from each other while you go.
One of the best parts is that you don't need to bring your own gear. Hooks and yarn are provided, so you can just show up and start. Just keep in mind that supplies can be limited, so if you have a specific project in mind or a favorite hook you can't live without, it's probably worth bringing them along. The sessions are part of Indy Reads' community programming, which supports their broader vision of 100% literacy for all.
Kayla B. hosts the gatherings. She's an IU Indianapolis graduate student who's been crocheting for about five years, and she's the one who keeps things moving. Whether you're there to get help with a tricky stitch or just to sit and work in good company, she's got you covered. The all-languages aspect means you don't have to worry about a language barrier—the work speaks for itself.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Indianapolis and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's free to attend, though they run on a pay-what-you-can basis with suggested donations of $0, $10, or $20. You can find them at Indy Reads, 1066 Virginia Avenue in Fountain Square, on the first and third Sundays of the month from 12 PM to 2 PM.
