Halloween program for children aged 2 to 8 to dress up, meet live critters and make a craft at the Garfield Park Conservatory.
Creepy Creatures is coming to the Garfield Park Conservatory on Friday, October 23, from 10 to 11 AM. It's a nature program built for the smaller crowd, aimed at children aged 2 to 8. The kids are invited to come dressed in a Halloween costume to meet live critters and make a craft, and registration is required.
It's one of the many things the Conservatory puts on throughout the year. They run a wide range of programs for all ages, from guided conservatory tours and hands-on workshops to seasonal events, and this one is geared toward the preschool set. If you've got a little one who's into bugs and animals, it's a good way to get them into the spirit of the season without the spooky stuff.
And it's just the start of their autumn calendar. The Haunted Conservatory follows on October 29 and 30, with daylight hours for younger children and evening hours filled with music, decoration and ghouls. After that, the Conservatory Crossing winter wonderland display takes over, with poinsettias, model trains and thousands of twinkling lights.
