Open improv jam with classic improv games and exercises, suitable for first-timers and seasoned players, with food and drink specials.
ComedySportz is hosting its Improv Happy Hour at The Wit Theater on Wednesday, October 22, starting at 7:30 PM. It's an open improv jam, which means anyone in the room can hop in and play. Each week the hosts run classic improv games and exercises in a low-pressure, high-fun environment—the kind of night that works just as well for first-timers curious about improv as it does for seasoned players keeping their skills sharp. No sign-up is required and all levels are welcome, whether you come to play or just to watch, and there are food and drink specials on the night.
If you're not familiar with the venue, The Wit Theater on Shelby Street is billed as Indianapolis's home for unscripted comedy made for grown-ups. ComedySportz is its longest-running show, and it's been around since February 1993, when it first opened at Theatre on the Square in Fountain Square. From there it spent 21 years on Mass Ave before moving to its current home on Shelby Street. The Indianapolis branch belongs to CSz Worldwide, with ComedySportz played in more than 25 cities.

Because it's an open jam, the night is built around participation rather than a fixed set. The hosts lead the games, and you decide how involved you want to be—you can jump in for a scene, stick to the sidelines, or just come for the drinks and watch the chaos unfold. It's a low-stakes way to get a feel for improv without having to commit to a class or a full production. The show starts at 7:30 PM at The Wit Theater, 3808 Shelby St., Indianapolis, IN 46227.
