Art workshop for preschoolers aged 3 to 6 to make clay art inspired by picture books with artist Jeremy South.
Art Adventures comes to the Southport Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Tuesday, November 17, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM. It's a workshop for preschoolers aged 3 to 6, led by artist Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts. The kids will work with clay and other materials to make art inspired by picture books, so it's a hands-on session that lets them build something from scratch rather than just following a set of instructions.
If you're not familiar with the Southport Branch, it's at 2630 East Stop 11 Road in Indianapolis. The branch has a long history in the community: it opened in 1967 as a small storefront in the Madison Square Shopping Center, and the current 15,700-square-foot facility on East Stop 11 Road followed in 1974. Even before that move, a group of Perry Township residents raised more than $5,000 to buy extra books for the new library. The session is made possible by the Everwise Foundation through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

It's a short, focused window on a Tuesday morning, so it fits right into the preschool schedule. If you've got a little one in that 3-to-6 age range, it's a good chance to get them working with their hands. You can find more details and sign up at https://attend.indypl.org/event/17019756.
