Hands-on art workshop for preschoolers aged 3 to 6 to make a masterpiece inspired by picture books with clay and other materials.
Art Adventures comes to the Indianapolis Public Library, College Avenue Branch on Thursday, November 12, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM. It's a hands-on workshop for preschoolers aged 3 to 6, led by Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts. The kids work with clay and other materials to make their own masterpiece inspired by picture books, and the organizers encourage them to dress to mess, so don't send them in anything you're worried about getting dirty.
The session is made possible by the Everwise Foundation through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation. The College Avenue Branch, which houses the program, is a 16,000-square-foot building that opened in August 2000. It was renamed from the Broadway Branch, which had served the neighborhood since 1924.

If you're looking for a morning activity for the little ones, this is a good fit. It's a short session—45 minutes—so it doesn't take up the whole day, and it's all about getting their hands on the materials rather than just watching. The focus is on the process of making, with the picture books serving as the starting point. The workshop runs from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM on Thursday, November 12, at the College Avenue Branch, 4180 North College Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46205.
