The SteelDrivers, a progressive bluegrass quintet from Nashville, perform live with special guest Gloria Anderson at The Heights Theater.
The SteelDrivers play The Heights Theater on Thursday, October 8, with special guest Gloria Anderson. The Nashville quintet has been around since 2005, and they've spent that time blending bluegrass with country, soul, blues, and contemporary influences. It's a hybrid sound that sits somewhere between a traditional bluegrass string band and a soul revue, and they've built a career around that crossover.
They've picked up five Grammy nominations along the way, including one in 2025 for Best Bluegrass Album, and they took home the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Recording in 2015 for The Muscle Shoals Recordings. In 2025, they signed with Sun Records and released Outrun, which also earned a Grammy nomination. On stage, the lineup is Richard Bailey, Tammy Rogers, Mike Fleming, Brent Truitt, and Matt Dame.
Opening for them is Gloria Anderson, an Americana-country singer-songwriter from Luling, Texas. She's been named Tractor Supply's Emerging Artist and Texas Songwriter University's 2026 Ambassador, and her record Run Of The Mill was crowd-funded. With Anderson on the bill, the night pairs a Nashville bluegrass staple with a Texas songwriter from just down the road.
