Psychobilly rock band The Reverend Horton Heat performs with special guest Los Skarnales at The Heights Theater.
The Reverend Horton Heat plays The Heights Theater on Friday, November 27, with Los Skarnales opening. It's a double bill that puts two different takes on rock-and-roll roots on the same stage in one night.
The Reverend Horton Heat is the stage name of Jim Heath, a psychobilly artist who reinterprets the country-blues-rock roots of American music. He performs as a 'Revelator' and a 'space-cowboy,' flanked by his 'Heatettes' — rockabilly chicks in poodle-skirts and cowboy boots — and by Jimbo Wallace on the stand-up bass. Over twenty-five years the band has toured the globe, and they released their eleventh studio album, Rev, on January 21st.
Los Skarnales have been bringing their 'Pachuco Boogie Ska' to audiences worldwide for almost 30 years. They describe it as a mix of ska, rock-a-billy, cumbia, reggae and punk, so they fit right in with the night's psychobilly and rockabilly leanings.
