Houston's favourite comedic troupe performs live stand-up comedy every Monday night at The Secret Group.
The Passing Lane is back at The Secret Group on Monday, October 12, with Andrew Youngblood, Will Loden, and Blake Jones on the bill. It's part of a regular Monday night run at the venue, so if you miss this one, you can catch the next one the following week.
For context, The Secret Group is an independent comedy venue and bar in EaDo, right at the corner of Polk and St. Emanuel. It's often called the engine room of Houston's alternative comedy scene, and that's because it runs stand-up almost every night of the week across two rooms: the main showroom and a smaller space called The Box. It also hosts more open mics than any other room in the city, and The Passing Lane is where local comics build their hours. The show itself is billed as the troupe's "hump day kicks" on Polk Street.
Unlike the big clubs, it keeps things low-key. Most shows are under $10, there's no drink minimum, and there's no kitchen, so you're welcome to bring in your own food. It's not just comedy, eitherβthe venue also programs music, karaoke, and other non-comedy nights throughout the week. The Passing Lane is 21+.

The show starts at 10 PM, and admission is free. If you're looking for a late-night spot in EaDo, this is a good place to start your Monday.
