The Milk Carton Kids - Lost Cause Lover Fool Holiday Tour

The Milk Carton Kids are playing The Heights Theater on Sunday, December 6, as part of their Lost Cause Lover Fool tour. They're bringing along special guest Rosi Golan to open the night.

The duo is Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan, two Los Angeles singer-songwriters who first appeared in 2011 with Prologue, a ten-song debut they recorded with just two guitars and two voices and shared as a free download. They've since earned four Grammy nominations, and their songs have appeared in films like Promised Land and the series Girls 5Eva. They've also collaborated with Joe Henry, Rosanne Cash, Sara Bareilles, and Josh Ritter.

Beyond the recording, they've stayed active in the folk community: they founded Sad Songs Summer Camp and the Los Angeles Folk Festival, and they've hosted the Americana Music Association Awards at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. This tour is built around their seventh studio album, Lost Cause Lover Fool, which came out April 24 on Far Cry/Thirty Tigers. It's a nine-song record that they describe as expanding their minimalist sound while staying rooted in the intimate, small moments. The Houston date is an all-ages show.

Doors open at 7 PM, with the show starting at 8 PM, and the lobby opening at 6 PM. The Heights Theater is at 339 W 19th St, Houston, TX 77008.
