STEM day for K-12 students at Space Center Houston to learn about space exploration, with rocket launches and a visit to the Johnson Space Center.
Stars & STEM comes to Space Center Houston on Sunday, November 22, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a STEM program built for groups of students in kindergarten through 12th grade who want to learn outside the classroom while experiencing the wonders of space exploration.
The day centers on NASA's Artemis III mission, the effort to return humans to the lunar surface. The program takes that mission and turns it into something students can actually do: rocket launches and a visit to the Johnson Space Center. It's a full day of hands-on activity rather than just sitting and listening, and it's designed to work for a wide range of ages, from the youngest kids in kindergarten up through high school seniors.
Space Center Houston is the learning center of The Manned Space Flight Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It's one of the city's top attractions, the area's number one draw for international visitors, and the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center. It's also a Smithsonian Affiliate, which gives you a sense of the scale of the place. The program runs from 12:30 PM to 7:30 PM, so it's a long afternoon and evening that takes you right into the heart of the city's space community.
