Concert by the Houston indie rock band Ripe at The Heights Theater, an all-ages night with doors opening at 7:00pm.
Ripe play The Heights Theater on Wednesday, November 25, with doors opening at 7 PM and the show starting at 8 PM. The lobby opens an hour earlier, at 6 PM, if you're planning to get there early. It's an all-ages night, billed as a curated experience for first-time attendees and longtime Houston enthusiasts alike.
There's a specific story the band tells about how they started. They formed in a basement underneath a Subway sandwich shop, writing their first songs in a concrete cube that smelled of fresh bread and selling their first tickets by hand outside a coffee shop where their friends worked. They frame their history around collaboration and community, a friendship they say has grown as strong as family. They've released two songs so far, with more on the way, and they worked with a producer who had made albums they loved during their formative years. They point to "Bright Blues" as the song that ripped them apart so they could start again.
