All-ages outdoor festival inspired by East and Southeast Asian street markets, with Asian and Asian American vendors, food, dance performances, sumo demonstrations and games.
Night Market 2026 returns to the Asia Society Texas Center on Friday, November 6, from 6 PM to 10 PM. It's an all-ages festival inspired by the street markets of East and Southeast Asia, and it celebrates Houston's Asian and Asian American communities with food, arts, shopping and activities. Each year the center transforms its parking lot, street and building into a marketplace, beer garden and games zone, with local Asian and Asian American vendors and artisans filling the outdoor space.
Inside, the program leans into the performance side of things. South Seas Productions, UH Modern and Kaminari Sumo are all scheduled for dance performances, and there's a karaoke booth and Japanese carnival games to get into. Shōgeki Sumo will be doing sumo wrestling demonstrations, and the Houston Public Library is setting up a manga café. It's the kind of night where you can drift from the food stalls outside to the performances and games inside.
If you've got time to linger, the center has a few other things running alongside the market. Yoshitaka Amano: Big Bang surveys about 30 years of the artist's multimedia paintings, and Explore Asia is an immersive journey through the arts and cultures of China, India, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam. The center describes itself as a leading force in forging closer ties between Asia and the West through arts, education, policy and business outreach, and the Night Market is one of the ways it opens its doors to the city.
