Movie Night on the Lawn: Addams Family Values

POST is bringing Addams Family Values to Skylawn on Thursday, November 12, as part of their Movie Nights on the Lawn series. The screening runs from 8 PM to 10 PM, and it's free with an RSVP.

If you haven't spent much time there, Skylawn is the rooftop park at POST, located at 401 Franklin Street in downtown Houston. The whole point of the series is to take cinema outdoors, and the rooftop setting puts the city skyline right behind the screen. It's the kind of night that works best when you bring a group of friends or family and settle in for a few hours under the open sky.

Addams Family Values is the 1993 sequel to the original Addams Family movie, and it's the one that really leans into the family's particular brand of chaos. The plot follows the clan as they deal with a new addition to the household—the baby, Pubert—and a suspicious relative who arrives with his own agenda. It's a movie that plays on the contrast between the Addamses' gothic, macabre world and the buttoned-up society around them, and it's just as easy to watch on a big screen as it is at home.

Since it's an outdoor screening, you'll want to come prepared for the evening air. Food and drinks are available to buy from POST Market, so you can grab something to eat and drink while you watch. The screening is free for general admission, but you'll need to RSVP to get your spot. It runs from 8 PM to 10 PM at Skylawn, 401 Franklin Street, in downtown Houston.
