Singer-songwriter Katie Pruitt performs her album Fools for the Fleeting, with special guest Judy Blank.
Katie Pruitt plays The Heights Theater on Tuesday, October 20, as part of her Fools for the Fleeting tour. She's a Georgia-bred singer, songwriter, and guitarist, and this is her third full-length album, following 2024's Mantras. The record landed on September 18, so by the time she hits Houston, it'll have been out for about a month.
Fools for the Fleeting is rooted in the idea of nature as a mirror for our inner lives, and the tour is built around it. The first single, "Blackout," features singer-songwriter Nolan Taylor, and the live shows put Pruitt's guitar work front and center, backed by musicians like Juan Solorzano and Aksel Coe. This is one stop in a 33-city run that closes in Nashville on December 2 at The Basement East.
If you're coming to her for the first time, here's a bit of the back story: her 2020 debut, Expectations, earned her an Emerging Artist of the Year nomination from the Americana Music Association. Mantras followed in 2024, and Fools for the Fleeting makes three full-length records in six years. The Heights Theater is one of Houston's most beloved intimate rooms, and the show is open to all ages.
