New Orleans rock n' roll band Cowboy Mouth live in concert with special guest Lvvrs at The Heights Theater.
Cowboy Mouth play The Heights Theater on Saturday, October 10, with Lvvrs opening. It's an all-ages show, so you can bring the kids along if you're planning a family night out.
Cowboy Mouth are a New Orleans alt-roots rock band that's been around since 1990. They're fronted by drummer and vocalist Fred LeBlanc, with John Thomas Griffith on guitar and vocals, Brian Broussard on bass, and Frank Grocholski on rhythm guitar and vocals. The band's name comes from a line in the 1978 Sam Shepard and Patti Smith play Cowboy Mouth, in which a character calls himself a "rock and roll Jesus with a cowboy mouth."
Their signature song, "Jenny Says," became a Top 30 Billboard Mainstream Rock hit, and they signed to MCA for their major-label debut Are You with Me?, which featured the track. Their music has appeared in films like The Underneath and Meet The Robinsons. They're known for playing roughly 200 shows a year, and their live set pairs LeBlanc's improvised monologues with sing-alongs like "Jenny" and "I Believe."
