Intimate evening of tequila and mezcal tasting led by General Cupreata and short films, part of the Houston Latino Film Festival.
Cinema & Agave comes to Aurora Chapel on Saturday, October 17, from 5 to 9 PM, as part of the Houston Latino Film Festival. It's a four-hour evening that brings together a guided tequila and mezcal tasting, a supporters social, and a screening of Cine de Muertos short films.
The tasting is led by General Cupreata, and it's built around the history, traditions, and craftsmanship behind tequila and mezcal. He walks through how different agave varieties and production methods shape the final flavors, and he keeps the focus on the Mexican people and communities who have preserved these traditions for generations. It's a slow look at the craft rather than just a flight of drinks.
That tasting sits alongside a supporters social and a screening of Cine de Muertos, a collection of short films. The whole night is presented as part of the Houston Latino Film Festival, and the organizers describe it as an intimate evening celebrating cinema, culture, and community.
