An intimate solo performance by Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness at The Heights Theater, with special guest Ivory Layne.
Andrew McMahon plays The Heights Theater on Friday, November 6, as part of an 18-date intimate solo tour. He'll be joined by special guest Ivory Layne, and the whole thing is billed as An evening with Andrew McMahon and his piano.
If you've followed him for a while, you know the piano has always been the center of it. Over the last 25 years, McMahon has gone through several musical lives: first as the singer, pianist, and songwriter for the pop-punk band Something Corporate, which he formed in 1998; then as the solo artist Jack's Mannequin; and since 2014 as Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. He's sold nearly 2.5 million albums across those projects and earned an Emmy nomination for his work on the NBC show Smash.
Last year, in July 2025, he did something a bit unusual: he performed as the opening act, the direct support, and the headliner all in one night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre for a sold-out show called Three Pianos. This Houston date is a different kind of roomβan intimate solo set rather than a full band production.

Much of his life has been as public as his music. At 22, he battled leukaemia, and that experience led him to start the Dear Jack Foundation in 2006 to support adolescents and young adults facing cancer. The foundation, the documentary Dear Jack, and his 2021 memoir Three Pianos all trace that journey. For this tour, $1 from every ticket goes to the foundation.
The show is on Friday, November 6, at The Heights Theater (339 W 19th St, Houston, TX 77008). Doors open at 6 PM, and the music starts at 7 PM.
