Professional armwrestling supermatch with a sanctioned card of 10-15 best-of-5 matches on the waterfront.
Wars on the Waterfront brings professional armwrestling to the Halifax Waterfront this Saturday, August 29. It's a sanctioned supermatch taking place at Drunken Lampposts, 1475 Lower Water St, and it runs from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
The card is built around a series of best-of-five matches, with 10 to 15 bouts scheduled throughout the afternoon. In a best-of-five, a puller has to win three rounds to take the match, so these aren't the one-and-done pulls you might see in a casual setting. It's a format that rewards endurance as much as raw strength, and it means the matches can stretch out rather than ending in a single second.
Because it's a sanctioned card, these are professional matches with a proper setup, not just a few people locking hands at a table. The best-of-five structure also means there's plenty of room for a match to swing back and forth, so you'll get to see how the pullers adjust their grip and their leverage as the rounds go on.
