Free dance classes with Bethany at Queen's Marque, all levels welcome, no pre-registration required.
The Dancing Downtown Project returns to Queen's Marque on Monday 27 July, with Bethany leading a free dance class from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. It's part of the Halifax Dance series, an outdoor dance programme that Downtown Halifax brings to the waterfront throughout the season. If you've been around the waterfront lately, you've probably seen these classes popping up in the open air rather than tucked away in a studio.
Bethany is the one running this particular session, and the setup is as straightforward as it gets: no pre-registration is required, so you can just turn up on the day. All levels are welcome, which means you don't need to have a background in dance to join in—it's open to anyone who wants to get moving, whether you've never stepped foot in a class or you've been dancing for years. The whole point is to get people out and dancing together in the open, rather than keeping it behind a sign-up sheet.
Because it's part of the Halifax Dance series, it's one of those things that works best when you just show up. There's no need to book a spot in advance or worry about your skill level; you just head down to the waterfront and jump in. It's a free class, so the only thing you need to bring is yourself.
