Spontaneity: A Horror Musical

Spontaneity are bringing Spontaneity: A Horror Musical to the Imperial Studio at the Neptune Theatre (1800 Argyle Street) as part of the Halifax Fringe. It's an improvised musical, so nothing is scripted in advance. The whole thing is built on the fly, and since it's part of the Fringe, it's one of the many shows running across the city this month.

The show comes from Spontaneity's 'Improv the Musical' strand, and this particular run draws its inspiration from horror-comedy musicals. Each performance is billed as a one-night-only creation, meaning the songs, the plot, and the twists are made up as they go. They describe it as packed with screams, laughs, eerie songs, and twists that nobody sees coming—not even the improvisers themselves. If you've seen them before, it'll be a completely different show every time.

There are three dates to choose from: Thursday 3 September, Thursday 10 September, and Sunday 13 September. The Thursday nights both start at 6:30 pm, and the Sunday matinee is at 3:30 pm. Tickets are C$15, and the venue is the Imperial Studio inside the Neptune Theatre on Argyle Street.
