A monthly gathering for a quiet night of books, beer and low social interaction, held in the venue's speakeasy bar.
Silent Reading returns to the North End on Tuesday, October 6, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It's a monthly gathering that happens on the first Wednesday of every month, and this session takes place at Good Robot Brewing's Robie Street Pub & Restaurant, 2736 Robie Street, Halifax, NS B3K 4P2. The whole thing is held upstairs in The Mousetrap, the venue's speakeasy bar.
The premise is exactly what it sounds like: a quiet night of books, beer and blissfully low expectations for social interaction. You bring whatever you're reading, grab a drink, and spend the evening reading in the company of others who are doing the same. There's no programme to follow and no performance to watch, just a few hours of reading in a shared space.

Because it's a monthly thing, it's easy to slot into a routine. If you've got a book you've been meaning to get through but can't seem to find the time for at home, this is a good way to carve out a dedicated block of it. The Halifax edition runs on the first Wednesday of every month, so if you miss this one, there's another coming up soon after. The session runs from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Mousetrap, upstairs at Good Robot Brewing's Robie Street Pub & Restaurant.
