Outdoor Latin Dance Night

Salsa on the Waterfront is back at Salt Yard Social on Friday, August 14, for an outdoor Latin dance night on the Halifax Waterfront. It's one of those summer evenings that brings together locals, visitors, and the Latin dance community for a few hours of music and dancing right by the harbour.

The night starts with a free beginner-friendly salsa lesson, so if you've never stepped foot on a dance floor, this is the time to get your bearings. After that, it opens up into social dancing with the harbour as your backdrop. You don't need a partner to join in, and you don't need any previous experience either—the lesson is there to get you moving before the social dancing takes over.

It's a straightforward setup: a lesson to get you started, followed by dancing with the waterfront around you. If you're already a dancer, you can skip the lesson and jump straight into the social half; if you're new to it, the lesson gives you a way to ease in. Either way, the music keeps going well into the evening.

Salt Yard Social is at 1603 Saltyard Wy, Halifax, NS B3J 1S2. The night runs from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and it's free to attend.
