As the title suggests, the work centres on water. Santarpia's paintings take that one subject and run with it, and since it's a single-artist show, you get a good sense of how she handles the same theme across different pieces. If you've spent any time around the harbour lately, the subject matter will feel familiar—water is hardly in short supply around here.
The gallery is at 1274 Hollis Street in downtown Halifax, and it's open from 11am to 5pm. Because it's a daytime run, it's the kind of thing you can fit into a lunch break or a slow afternoon rather than something you have to clear your whole evening for.
