Evening tour to Georges Island for an outdoor screening of the film The Lighthouse under the night sky, presented by Parks Canada and Ambassatours Gray Line.
The Lighthouse screens at Georges Island National Historic Site on Saturday 3 October, from 6:15 PM to 9:15 PM. It's an outdoor screening under the night sky, part of the Events Halifax Waterfront series.
The evening is built around visiting the island after hours. You'll board a ferry from the Halifax Waterfront and sail out to Georges Island, which is closed to the general public for the night. Once you're there, the movie plays outdoors. The film is a psychological thriller about two lighthouse keepers stationed at a remote outpost, and it was filmed right here in Nova Scotia. The island's own historic lighthouse and the surrounding Atlantic waters add a layer to the film's eerie, isolated atmosphere.

It stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, who play the two keepers. The whole thing is presented by Parks Canada, Ambassatours Gray Line, and Park Video Entertainment. Since it's an outdoor screening, you'll need to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets—no seating is provided. Concessions are available on-site, but no alcohol is served. If the weather doesn't hold, the rain date is 10 October. The ferry departs from the Halifax Waterfront, and the screening runs from 6:15 PM to 9:15 PM.
