Community-run pop-up with local pet vendors, pet photography, live music and a Halifax Puppy Yoga station at The Brewery Market.
The Mini Pet Expo takes over The Brewery Market on Sunday, October 18, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It's a community-run pop-up put on by The Pop Up Market Halifax, and it's exactly what the name suggests: a pet-friendly gathering that brings together local pet vendors and a handful of family-friendly activities. If you've got a dog and a free Sunday afternoon, it's a pretty easy one to drop into.
The vendors are the main draw—local businesses selling pet supplies and treats—but there's more to do than just shop. They'll have pet photography on the go, live music playing through the afternoon, and a Halifax Puppy Yoga station for anyone who wants to stretch out with some pups. There are also fundraisers, giveaways and demonstrations scattered across the day, so it's less of a static market and more of a proper afternoon out.
The venue is part of the draw too. The Brewery Market is the year-round Saturday farmers market based in the historic Alexander Keith's Brewery courtyard on Lower Water Street, where more than 65 vendors sell local food, crafts and artisan goods. The expo takes over that same space, so you're in the heart of the old brewery courtyard rather than a rented hall or a parking lot. It's a spot most of us already know from the regular market, just with a different focus for the day.
