Stand-up comedy night featuring Kyle Hickey, with supporting performances from Adrienne Gabriel and Peter White at YukYuks.
Kyle Hickey is headlining YukYuks on Friday, August 28, with Adrienne Gabriel and Peter White on the bill. It's a stand-up comedy night with Hickey taking the main slot, so you'll get a full evening of three comics rather than just one set.
If you've never seen him, it helps to know where he comes from. Hickey started out more than a decade ago at an open mic right here in Halifax, and he's spent the years since building a following as a writer, actor and comedian. He's played the Boston Comedy Festival, CBC's Halifax Comedy Festival and JFL42 in Toronto, and he's landed acting roles on YTV and MTV. He's a local who's put in the time and worked his way out across the festival circuit and into television.
There's also a recorded side to his work. He's put out two live comedy albums, Experimental Phase and The Fresh Prince of Donair, both of which play on SiriusXM's channel 168 Canada Laughs and are available on iTunes and Spotify. If you want to get a sense of his style before the night, those are the two to start with.

YukYuks is at 1665 Argyle Street in downtown Halifax. The show runs from 8:00 to 9:30 pm, so it's a relatively tight window—you're in and out in an hour and a half. With Adrienne Gabriel and Peter White opening for Hickey, there are three comics on the bill.
