Marc McLaughlin, Canadian indie pop and rock singer-songwriter, plays Gus' Pub with support from Nicky Band and Beauts on his Eastern Canada tour.
Marc McLaughlin plays Gus' Pub on Friday, November 6, with Nicky Band and Beauts opening for him. It's part of a fall tour across Eastern Canada, and the Halifax date falls on a Friday night.
McLaughlin is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who grew up in rural Newfoundland and Labrador and now lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He works in indie pop and rock, and the two things that usually stand out in his songs are the intricate melodies and the introspective lyrics. He's known for a thoughtful, understated approach, so the set should lean more toward the quiet end of the indie spectrum than the loud one.
If you're coming in fresh, there are two recent records to get your bearings. His 2023 EP, I Don't Want to Be Blue Anymore, earned critical acclaim, and his follow-up, All I Can Say, came out in February 2025 and brought in a new sonic palette. Between the two, you'll get a good sense of where he's been and where he's heading. He's also shared the stage with several celebrated East Coast acts and contributed to projects by Weary, Strongboy, Bleu and others, so he's well-connected within the regional scene.
