Northern Super League women's soccer match between Halifax Tides and Montreal Roses at Wanderers Grounds, with community activities and giveaways.
Halifax Tides FC take on Montreal Roses FC at Wanderers Grounds on Saturday 17 October, a Northern Super League match that's being built out into a full day of soccer. The match kicks off at 3 p.m., and the gates open at 2 p.m., so there's an hour to get in and settle before the whistle. If you can't make it in person, you can follow the game on CBC Gem and CBC TV.
This is part of the Northern Super League's second season, which is billed as Canada's first women's professional soccer league. The Tides are playing at home here in Halifax, and the match is more than just the 90 minutes on the pitch. CBC is teaming up with the club to turn the whole thing into a day of soccer, prizes and community spirit, with a CBC tent on-site that's free to visit. Inside, there's a 360 video photo booth and exclusive giveaways, so it's worth arriving early to wander through before the game starts.
