A family-friendly fall fair featuring carnival games, inflatables, LED mini golf and balloon twisters at the Discovery Centre.
The Discovery Centre is hosting its Fall Fair on October 3 and 4, a full weekend of carnival games, inflatables and family activities. It's co-presented with HRM Mascots and iNFLATABLES, and it runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm both days, so you've got plenty of time to work your way through it whether you go Saturday or Sunday.
Inside, the fair is built around the inflatables: bouncy houses for the smaller ones and obstacle courses for anyone with a bit more energy to burn. There's also LED mini golf, which puts a glow-in-the-dark spin on the usual game, and a row of carnival-style games that'll feel familiar if you've ever spent a few hours at a fairground. Balloon twisters are on hand too, turning balloons into whatever they can manage while you're there.
One of the better things about how it's set up is that all these activities are included in general admission. You don't have to keep digging into your pockets for separate tickets or tokens for every game or inflatable you want to try; once you're in, you're set. If you're already a member, it's free.

That makes it a fairly easy one to bring the whole family along without worrying about the cost adding up as the day goes on. The Discovery Centre is at 1215 Lower Water Street in downtown Halifax, and the fair runs 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4.
