Weekly stand-up comedy night featuring Halifax regulars and visiting comics at Good Robot Brewing.
Better Times Comedy runs every Thursday night at Good Robot Brewing on Robie Street, a stand-up show that's been a fixture of the Halifax comedy scene for a while now. It's an award-winning night, named Best Comedy Night at The Coast's Best of Halifax Awards, and it keeps going year-round rather than just during the festival season.
The format is a rotating cast of Halifax regulars and visiting comics, so the line-up changes from week to week. Among the regulars you'll see are Clare Belford, a writer on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and Dan Hendricken, who you'll recognise from CBC LOL and the Halifax Comedy Festival, alongside Travis Lindsay and Adam Myatt. Because it's a weekly thing, it's easy to drop in when it suits you rather than committing to a single date.
If you're planning to go, it's worth arriving a bit early. There's a raffle every night with gear from Good Robot, Strange Adventures, and Taz Records up for grabs. The bar also runs a rotating tap special each week, and you get 15% off food, drinks, and retail, so it's a good spot to settle in with a beer before the show starts.
Every week we pick ๐ the 5 best ๐ things to do in Halifax and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
