The Catholic Women's League of Canada is bringing its 106th Annual National Convention to the Halifax Convention Centre from August 9 to 12, 2026. It's a big gathering for the CWL, with sisters from across the country coming to the city for four days of sessions.
The convention is built around Halifax's maritime spirit, and the East Coast sisters are the ones welcoming everyone to town. Beyond the sessions, the programme takes in the harbour and the waterfront. There's a cruise aboard the Kawartha Spirit and a walking tour that starts at the Historic Cable Wharf, threading together monuments, art and stories that range from the Halifax Explosion to Pier 21, the gateway for millions of immigrants. On-site registration is still accepted for the convention sessions, but that doesn't cover the special events like the cruise and the walking tour, so you'll want to check your arrangements for those ahead of time.
