The annual Young Lives vs Cancer Christmas Concert returns to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, featuring the Glasgow Hospitals' Choir and Friends, the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra and right2dance.
The Young Lives vs Cancer Christmas Concert returns to The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday 11 December, with the first note sounding at 7.30pm. It's an annual fixture in the city's festive calendar, put on by the Glasgow Hospitals' Choir and Friends, and this year marks its 46th edition. Alistair Digges is back at the podium to conduct the choir, and they're joined by the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra and right2dance, with other special guests to be announced. The organisers describe it as a 'song in your heart' night to kick off the season.
Beyond the music, there's a clear cause behind it. The concert raises money for Young Lives vs Cancer, which supports children and young people with cancer and their families. Part of that work happens right here in Glasgow at Marion's House, a free place for families to stay while their child is undergoing cancer treatment. If you've never heard of it, it's a home away from home for families who have to travel to the city for treatment, so the money raised goes toward keeping those doors open.

It's a long-running tradition, now in its nearly half-century mark, and it's one of those nights that brings together a choir, an orchestra, and a dance group on one stage. With the Glasgow Hospitals' Choir and Friends at the centre and Alistair Digges conducting, it's a full evening of music rather than a short set. Tickets are £23.90, which includes the booking fee and a contribution to the restoration fund, and the concert starts at 7.30pm at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 2 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 3NY.
